Obituary: Irod Lee ‘Bill’ Chesser, 89, Cox’s Creek

Irod Lee “Bill” Chesser, 89, of Cox’s Creek, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Baptist Healthcare in Louisville. He was born July 30, 1926, in Washington County to the late Enoch and Lula Mae Hardin Chesser. He retired from General Electric after 35 years of service. He was a farmer, a World War II funeral_flowerU.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Chesser; one sister, Louise Perkins Reed; and two brothers, John Fred Chesser and Enoch Jr. Chesser.

He is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Charles) Kincer of Cox’s Creek; four grandchildren, Missy Curtsinger, Larry Curtsinger, Little Charlie Berry and Tiffany Kincer; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren, along with several special nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Houghlin Funeral Home with burial in Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery with Bro. Steve Chesser and Bro. Mike Thompson officiating.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
