John W. “Billy” Miles, 67, of Bardstown, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at his home. He was born Oct. 31, 1944, in Washington County. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Rose Construction Company. He was an Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 121, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Carrie Miles; seven brothers, James Edward “J.E.” Miles, Joseph Clarence Miles Jr., Joseph Harold “Fats” Miles, Joseph Bernard “Bernie” Miles, James “Leo” Miles, Thomas Theodore “Tommy” Miles, and Louis Raymond “Cotton” Miles; and two sisters, Mary Louise Miles, and Margaret Ann “Sis” Keeling.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Miles; one daughter, Charlotte Sinclair and her husband Chris; one brother, Joseph V. Miles and his wife Donna, of Bardstown; one sister, Carolyn Simpson of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Miranda Ragg, and Jacob Sinclair, both of Bardstown; and one great-granddaughter, Lauren Pinkston, of Bardstown.
The funeral is 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Hammer officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Barlow Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may go to Masses.
