Juanita Mae Barnett, 69, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. She was born Oct. 3, 1943, in Shelby County. She was a member of the New Liberty Christian Church and a homemaker. She had been a resident of Signature Health Care in Taylorsville for a year.
She was the daughter of the late Grover and Mabel Robinson Barnes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Barnett; two sisters, Anna Marie Barnes and Judy Carol Barnes; two brothers, James Earl Barnes and Robert Thomas Barnes.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Steve) Jamison of Mount Eden, and Vicky (Tim) Montgomery of Bloomfield; two sons, Ricky Barnett and Keith (Karen) Barnett, both of Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Fay (Jim) Mattingly of Lawrenceburg, Deborah Brown of Salvisa, and Betty Sue (Winfred) Hagerman of Bloomfield; two brothers, Burnice (Jean) Barnes of Mount Eden, and Donnie (Frankie) Barnes of Louisville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Bro. Kenneth Shouse will officiate. Burial is in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the funeral home.
