Saturday, May 13, 2017 — The Elizabethtown Kentucky State Police post has released the identities of the three victims of Thursday’s fatal head-on crash that happened near the 25 mile marker of the Bluegrass Parkway.

According to KSP, a 2014 Peterbilt tractor trailer operated by Richie Warren, 55, of Springfield, was traveling east on the parkway at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday when for unknown reasons, it crossed the median and struck a 2007 Mercury Milan operated by Delmer Odell.

Delmer Odell, 72, Delores Odell, 71 and their 3-year-old grandchild were pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner.

A third passenger in Odell’s vehicle, identified as a 5-year-old grandchild, was treated at the scene by Nelson County EMS and transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for a flight by medical helicopter to Norton’s Children’s Hospital. According to KSP, the grandchild was listed in serious condition Friday.

The tractor-trailer driver refused treatment by EMS at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by KSP Trooper/Reconstructionist Scott Rafferty.
