To the Editor:

Last week my husband and I learned that we will not be able to keep our current HSA (health savings account) plan. The HSA was particularly attractive to us because it allowed us to be responsible for our own care and incentivized personal saving and healthy lifestyle choices. We pay our premiums on time, and strive to be good stewards of our health. But now, we are being punished by a President who lied to us all. As we now know, the Obama administration was aware as early as 2010 that over 10 million Americans would lose their insurance with the implementation of this disastrous “reform.”
Did you know that unions and corporations are asking for and being exempted from being forced into the new Obamacare plans for 2014? Where’s the exemption for working families? I am a self-employed housewife and mother. I don’t want Obamacare for many reasons, but especially because of its subsidizing of abortion (which is a violation of my faith) and rationing of care. The multiple-thousand-page mandate is still being written; who knows what other evils will be included?
The Republicans have been accused of being “uncompassionate” and waging a “war on women,” but it’s obvious that the President and his Democrat political allies are the ones who are against women, babies, healthcare, and the freedoms that make this country the best in the world.
