Tuesday, April 15, 2014-12:02 a.m. — The Old Kentucky Home Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 43 has given its endorsement in the race for Nelson County Sheriff to Ed Mattingly.
According to a lodge press release, a panel consisting of three FOP members invited the three candidates — Democrats Ed Mattingly and Brooks Houck, and Republican J.T. Fulkerson — to participate.
Of the three candidates, only Mattingly and Fulkerson participated. Each candidate was asked to respond to the same set of questions.
Following the interviews conducted last week, the FOP decided to endorse Mattingly in his bid for sheriff.
