Lorene Schafer Allen, 95, of San Angelo, Texas, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Windsor Gardens in Bardstown. She was born March 14, 1921 in Loyal, Okla., and a member of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Horace Allen; her parents, John C. and Dollie Schafer; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Claude Jeffries; and one nephew, Jay Jeffries.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Virginia Allen (Edgar) Drake of Bardstown; four nieces, Debra (Mike) Brooks of Bardstown, Donna (Berry) Hampton of LaGrange, Carol (George) Ockerhausen of Louisville and Charlotte Jeffries of Oklahoma City; five nephews, Edwin (Amy) Binford of Louisville, Paul (Kelli) Drake of Lexington, Robert (Lesli) Binford of Lancaster, Penn., Paul (Darrell Chun) Allen of Honolulu, and John Wayne (Jenny) Allen of Castle Rock, Colo.; and one great-nephew, Kent Jeffries both of Oklahoma City.
The graveside service is 4 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016, at the Bardstown Cemetery with Dr. Jacob Vincent officiating.
Visitation is 1:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown.
