Thursday, April 21, 2011, 8 p.m. — A Louisville man, Bryan Anthony Branham, 28, of Louisville was indicted Wednesday, April 20, 2011, on first-degree rape charges by a Nelson County grand jury. According to the indictment, on March 13, 2011, Branham allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse by the use of forcible compulsion. He was also indicted on a charge of first-degree persistent felony offender.
First-degree rape is a Class B felony punishable by at a maximum of 20 years in jail. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions. Branham is set for arraignment in Nelson Circuit Court on May 5, 2011.
