Marvin G. “Bill” Stone, 83, Woodlawn, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born February 10, 1928, inNelsonCounty. He was a resident of Woodlawn, an Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from United Catalyst.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Audie Stone; brother, John D. Stone and a great-grandchild, Karlie Mellick.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Rea Hill Stone of Woodlawn; three daughters, Linda (Greg) Moore of Shepherdsville, Audrey Rahm of LaGrange and Susan (Chuck) Price of Lebanon Junction; one son, Marvin Stone II of Bloomfield; one sister, Dorothy Nichols of Mt. Washington; one brother, Luther ”Budgie” Stone of Woodlawn; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Barlow Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Greer will be officiating. Burial is in Bardstown Cemetery.
Visitation is 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until time of the funeral Wednesday at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to the Kosair’sChildrenHospital.
