Mary Frances King, 85, Bloomfield

Mary Frances King, 85, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. She was the former Mary Francis Summers, a native of Fairfield, a retired employee from the Nelson County Board of Education having worked in the food service. She was a health care giver, a member of the Bloomfield Second Baptist Church and a former member of the choir and a homemaker.

She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Cecilia Bishop Summers and was preceded in death by her husband Henry Fisher King; a son, John Robert “Beaver” King; four sisters, Mildred Caldwell, Nancy Wells, Lucille Summers and Anna Hayes; and a brother, Alfred (Smokey) Summers.

She is survived by a son, Tony King of Bloomfield; a stepson, Teddy Hayes of Louisville; a stepdaughter, Theordia Hayes of Louisville; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also helped raise Cindy Keeling Albright, Billy Keeling and Brent Keeling.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2011, at the Bloomfield Second Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin Holloway and the Rev. Louis Hughley officiating. Burial is in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Second Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
