Tuesday, July 24, 2012, 11:30 p.m. — Bardstown Mayor Bill Sheckles announced Tuesday that Barbie Bryant will be the new city clerk and Bardstown Cemetery sexton effective August 1.
Bryant will replace current Bobbe Blincoe, who is retiring at the end of the month. Bryant has been employed by the City of Bardstown since 2003, and has been executive assistant to Mayor Bill Sheckles.
As city clerk/sexton, Bryant will plan the agenda and record the minutes of the Bardstown City Council, maintain the city’s official records, handle liquor license applications, open records requests and oversee special permits.
As sexton of the city cemetery, she will be responsible for the overall management of the cemtery, the sale of grave sites and managing the budgets and records.
