By JIM BROOKS
Nelson County Gazette

Monday, Aug. 1, 2011 — Mayor Bill Sheckles has called for a special meeting for the Bardstown City Council in order for the council to give final approval on the occupational tax it OK’d last week.

The meeting is set for 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, immediately before the council’s monthly working session. The occupational tax is the only item on the agenda for the special meeting.

The working session agenda includes:

  • discussion of the wastewater ordinance amendment;
  • preliminary grant application for the Plum Run Road sewer line;
  • and a report from the long-term planning committee.

The special meeting and working session convene in the City Hall annex building behind Spalding Hall on Xavier Drive.
