Melvina Price Mattingly, 87, of Bardstown, died Tuesday August 14, 2012 at Colonial Health and Rehab. She was born November 21, 1924 in Bardstown, a homemaker, and a member of Plum Run Homemakers, Blue Army, and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Mattingly Jr.; a son, David Mattingly; and a brother, J.B. Price.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois (Bailey) Pressgrove and her husband Bailey Pressgrover, and Lynn (Harold) Morrow and Harold Morrow, all of Bardstown; one sister, Kathleen Edelen of Bardstown; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Batcheldor will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, and 9-10:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may go to Nelson County Community Clinic or Colonial Health and Rehab Activities Department.
