Nannie Benita Edelen, age 81, of Manton, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary, Nerinx.
She was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Manton. She was a former nurse’s aide at the Loretto Motherhouse and a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Richard Edelen, Sr., and Mary Belle Smith Edelen; a brother and sister-in-law, John Richard Edelen, Jr, and Jean Carol Edelen; and a brother-in-law, Jay Medley.
Survivors include her sister, Anna Catherine Medley of Louisville, three nieces, eight nephews and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Manton with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ben Brown will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
