Naomi Ruth Cooper Ward, 85, Boston

Naomi Ruth Cooper Ward, 85, of Boston, formerly of Louisville, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Colonial Health & Rehab in Bardstown. She was a member of Younger’s Creek Baptist Church. She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Indiana, the daughter of the late Eugene and Ada Bryant Cooper. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who deeply loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ward Jr.; two sisters, Ophelia Woosley and Jeannie Cooper.

She is survived by three son, James R. Ward and Edward Eugene Ward, both of Boston, and Stephen R. Ward of Taylorsville; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Boston Chapel in Boston with the Rev. Mike Rodgers, pastor of Youngers Creek Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in  Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville.

Visitation is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Boston Chapel, 12783 Boston Road, Boston.

Family and friends are invited to gather near the front gate at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, for 11 a.m. committal services in the chapel of the Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, with the Rev. Mike Rodgers officiating.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Boston Chapel in Boston, 12783 Boston Road, Boston, is in charge of arrangements.
