Friday, March 4, 2011, 12:10 a.m. — A Nelson County EMS ambulance was involved in a two-vehicle crash just before midnight Thursday night on Bardstown Road in Fern Creek. The accident happened in front of the Aspen Creek Restaurant, 8000 Bardstown Road. Neither member of the EMS crew were believed to be seriously injured though their ambulance was reportedly disabled in the crash. There was no report of the condition of the driver or occupants of the other vehicle. Louisville Metro police were notified. EMS Director Joe Prewitt is traveling to the accident scene at this hour. A back-up crew will be called to replace the crew involved in the accident.
