Alberta Gritton, 91, of Cox’s Creek, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in Green 
Meadows Health Care in Mount Washington. She was the former Alberta Ash and a native of Jefferson County. She was a member of Little Union Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron “Red” Gritton and her adopted son, Gary Gritton.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and caregivers, Johnny and Wanda Chesser of Cox’s Creek.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Will Sipes officiating. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
