Obituary: Ann Tipton Taylor, 85, Bardstown

Ann Tipton Taylor, 85, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, at Bardstown Health and Rehab. She was born Oct. 9, 1940, in Springfield to the late James “Jim” and Leila Margaret Bean Ballard.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Berry Taylor, and two brothers, Joseph Anthony Ballard, and William Edward “Bill” Ballard.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Taylor; three sons, John B. (Amy) Taylor and James B. (Nick Kipper) Taylor, both of Bardstown, and T. Benjamin Taylor of Louisville; four sisters, Sarah Margaret Polin of Elizabethtown, Susan (Jerry) Bean Osbourne and Elizabeth “Lee” Cleveland (Sam) Wheatley, both of Bardstown and Mary Brenda (Mack) Hiter of Springfield; two brothers, James W. “Jimmie” (Sue) Ballard of Elizabethtown and John Richard “Dick” (Denise) Ballard of Hamilton, Ohio; and one grandson, Nicholas B. Kipper-Taylor.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Mungai officiataing. Burial is in the Holy Trinity Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2026 at the church.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
