Barbara Carol Medvecky, 84, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. She was born Aug. 18, 1942, in Bardstown to the late Dillard Orce and Anna Evelyn Roberts Brown.
She was a former manager at Alfred Mainzer in New York and was a former accountant in Louisville. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, gardening and ceramics, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Bardstown Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Medvecky; one daughter, Danielle Maldonado of Bardstown; one son, Troy Matthew Medvecky of Bardstown; one sister, Beverly (Harold) Coulter of Bardstown; one brother, Wayne Brown of Bardstown; five grandchildren, Yvette Medvecky of New York, Alexus Maldonado, Adrianna Maldonado, Brianna Maldonado, Troy Matthew Medvecky II, all of Bardstown; and three great-granddaughters, Amariana, Chloe and Lainey.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff McCarty officiating. Burial is in Holy Trinity Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2026,, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, at the funeral home.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
