Obituary: Carolyn Sue Rogers, 82, Bardstown

Carolyn Sue Rogers, 82, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, at her home. She was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Nelson County to the late Herbert and Alta Vittitow Young.

She was a retired employee of Intertec Systems and was a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed restoring furniture, going to yard sales, and loved mowing the grass and working in her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Irvin Rogers; three sisters, Lois Rogers, Helen Muncy, Linda Kay Spalding; and three brothers, Raymond Young, Kenny Young and Henry Young.

She is survived by one daughter, Tonya Hutchins (Greg) of Boston; one son, Kevin Rogers (Cindy) of Culvertown; one sister, Sherry Taylor (Danny) of Bardstown; two grandchildren, Cheyenne Hutchins (Rebecca) of Culvertown and Dakota Hutchins (Mary Kate) of Manton;
two great-grandchildren, Skylar Hutchins and Colton Hutchins; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Chaplain Ray Johnson officiating. Buial is in the First Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at the church.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
