Catherine Rose Murphy, 83, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at Norton Women and Childrens Hospital. She was born June 2, 1943 in Nelson County.
She retired from Wilson Brothers. She volunteered at St.Vincent de Paul, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a source of light and strength to her multitude of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Terry Hulse and Mary Regina Hulse; and one sister, Mary Jean “Snookie” Hulse.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Murphy; seven children, Mickey (Rhonda) Head, Terri Lear, Cathy Vance, Serena (Joe) Lear, Beth Head, Stacy (David) Hall and Terri Lynn Murphy; two sisters, Carol Ann Haynes and Cindy Edelen; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The memorial service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026 at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Kentucky Right to Life, and Foundation for Women’s Cancer.
