

Charles Edward “Chuck” Mattingly, 78, of Louisville, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at his residence. He was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Louisville. He was a retired employee of Cardinal Insulation, a member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grace Hutchins Mattingly (2010); his parents, Robert Earl Mattingly and Catherine Mattingly Harris; and several siblings.
Survivors include one daughter, Tonya Bray of Louisville; two sons, Todd Mattingly (Jessica) and Jude Mattingly, both of Louisville; two sisters, Jo Horsley of Louisville and Theresa Mattingly of Colorado; one brother, Tommy Mattingly (Lucy) of Louisville; and three grandchildren, Zoe Pitts and Justin and Jacob Bray.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis. The Rev. Emil Kander and the Rev. George Illikkil will concelebrate. Burial is the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
