Obituary: Charles M. Richardson, 91

Charles M. Richardson, 91, died May 5, 2026, in peace and comfort surrounded by loved ones and the gentle care-givers of Loretto Living Center. He would have been 92 this September.

CHARLES M. RICHARDSON

He lived an extraordinary life, propelled by his astonishing mind, near-photographic memory, and sterling work ethic. Deeply influenced by a lifetime of true faith, he led by example, setting high standards of honesty, morality, tithing, and helping those less fortunate.

A proud lifetime associate of McKesson, he held district, regional, and corporate governance positions, retiring at age 55 from San Francisco world headquarters.

Our Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Friend will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. We take comfort in honoring his legacy, knowing how blessed we were to have him share our lives, as he literally changed the world for the better just by being himself.

Our family would like to extend special thanks to the many wonderful people who provided loving and professional palliative care at Loretto. We’ll never forget your kindness.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sauntessa, RN; his parents, Margaret and Maurice Richardson; and two sisters, Margaret Medley and Lois Jacobs.

He is survived by one daughter, Melissa Koehler (Craig); one son, Mark Richardson; two sisters; Kathi (Jim) Stewart, Sheila (Buford) Coke; two brothers, Leo (Betty) Richardson and Ralph Richardson; one grandson Kyle Gerlach; three great-grandchildren, Ephraim, Arista, and Elais; and many nieces, nephews, church friends, and others, all of whom he quietly treasured.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Brandon DeToma officiating. Burial is in the church cemtery.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.
