Charles “Timmy” Downs, 56, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was born Sept. 13, 1960, in Bardstown. He was a member of Samuels First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Downs; and mother, Gelinda Greathouse Nalley.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Groves Downs; two sons, Matthew Downs and Joshua Downs, both of Bardstown; one sister, Janet (Marco) Oyola of Elizabethtown; one brother, Howie (Donna) Wickliffe of Bardstown; his stepfather, Joseph A. Nalley of Cox’s Creek; one granddaughter, Samura Downs of Bardstown; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home with Pastor David Calvert officiating. Burial is in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, and 9-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
