Debra Lynn Wampler, 65, of Coxs Creek, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was born in Harriman, Tenn., to Howard and Dorothy Wampler.
She was preceded in death by her longtime partner of 26 years, Scott Day.
She is survived by two daughters, Carmen Wampler and Abby Day; four granddaughters, Kailee Crowell, Ayanna Berry, Addylin Gillis and Scarlett Martinez; and two grandsons, Knox Hamilton and Ezra Wampler.
She was a free-spirited, loyal, and loving woman who was a devoted mother, grandmother, homemaker, and friend. Even while battling illness, she kept her spirits up for as long as she could and continued trying to be there for the people she loved. She will be remembered for her strength, her caring heart, and the love she gave to her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In honoring her wishes, cremation was chosen by the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
