Obituary: Donald Bruce Milburn, 62, Springfield

Donald Bruce Milburn, 62, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

He was a native of Washington County. He was born Aug. 15, 2026, in Lebanon to the late H. T. and Laura Royalty Milburn.

He was a 1982 graduate of Washington County High School and served for many years on the Washington County Ambulance Service having retired June 21, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Len Milburn (Feb. 25, 2022).

Survivors include his wife, Rita Coulter Milburn; one daughter, Amanda Milburn of Springfield; two stepdaughters, Dana Shewmaker (Jason) of Springfield and Jessica Coulter of Bardstown; two sons, Justin Milburn (Samantha) and Nick Milburn, both of Springfield; two sisters, Charlotte Brady (Howard) of Springfield and Sharon Thompson (Rick) of Lexington; one brother, Rex Milburn (Melanie) of Georgia; and 15 grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, at the River of Life Church with Michael Stewart officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, and 8-11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, at the church.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Serving as casket bearers will be Tim Graves, Mark Hale, Jason Shewmaker, Chad Coulter, David Coulter and Jordan Hurst.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
