Donald Ray James Sr., 80, of Bardstown, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, in Bardstown. He was a native of Bullitt County 
and was born Sept. 27, 1933. He was a retired truck driver who worked for various companies. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Mitchell and Edward L. James; and one brother Edward L. James III.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Dan) Merzke of Columbus, Ohio and Denise (Clinton) Grant of Utica, Ind.; one son, Donald Ray James Jr., of Louisville; one sister, Rebecca Anna Thornton of Cheboygan, Mich.; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
The family chose cremation. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
