Obituary: Doris Jean Harm, 89, formerly of Bardstown

Doris Jean Harm, 89, formerly of Bardstown, died Monday, June 22, 2026. She was born in Charleston, West Va., to the late Raymond and Nancy Frye Sunderland.

She lived in Charleston, West Va., for 30 years, Cleveland for 18 years, Bardstown for 20 years, and Wilmington, N.C, for 15 years. She moved to Georgia in 2019 and lived in both Suwanee and Winder.

She was of the Catholic faith. She worked as a secretary until her retirement. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her exercise group in Wilmington, N.C. She also enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Whilt; two brothers, Raymond E. Sunderland and Raymond Vance; and three former husbands, Kenneth Caldwell, Harry Harm (1966 – 2002), and Eugene Harm (2004 – 2017).

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Caldwell of Front Royal, Va., and Nancy (John) Hartz of Winder, Ga.; one stepson, Richard (Kathy) Harm of Garner, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Jason Harm, Jessica Harm, Michael (Trisha) Zarlinga, Tiffany (Tony) Rollison, Glenn Gilmore, Kenneth Gilmore, Evan (Gabriella) Hartz, Alex (Kaitlyn) Hartz, Aaron Hartz, and Audrey (Will) Mize; 10 great-grandchildren, Karter Zarlinga, Parker (Destiny), Meghan Rollison, Chase Rollison, Penelope Gilmore, Hayden Gilmore, Andrew Hartz, Brendan Hartz, and two others, William (due in December 2026) and Carter (due in August 2026; and one great-great-grandchild, Brier Zarlinga.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. J. Randall Hubbard officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 10-10:45 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2026, at the church.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home of Bardstown and Smith Funeral Home of Winder, Ga., are in charge of arrangements.
