Obituary: Dorothy Hutchins, 91, Bardstown

Dorothy Hutchins, 91, of Bardstown, died Saturday, July 11, 2026, at her home. She was born Jan. 2, 1935, in Taylorsville to the late Howard Alfred and Christine Reynolds Curtsinger.

She was a homemaker and loved to listen to Elvis; she was a great cook and loved to shop. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She was a member Parkway Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Hutchins and an infant son, Thomas Hutchins; one sister, Betty Mattingly; and two brothers, Howard “Buddy”, and Kenny Curtsinger.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Figg and Charlotte Waldridge, both of Bardstown, and Phyllis Hutchins of Springfield; two sisters, Pat (Dex) Wilson and Barbara Davenport, both of Louisville; one brother, Wayne (Darla) Curtsinger of Louisville; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Dr. James Carroll officiating. Burial is in St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2026, and 9-10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
