Douglas Lynn Brunson, 70, of Shepherdsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph R. and Kathleen A. Brunson; and two grandsons, Keaton Rhodes and Gavin Brunson.
He was a native of New Albany, Ind. He was a retired millwright with Ziniz for 25 years, Local Millwright 1031, and very active in the Greater Bullitt County Youth Football League in the early 1990s. He loved his family and truly enjoyed his Saturday night dinners and a Christian by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Brunson; his children, Shanda L. Brunson of Brownsville, Texas, Douglas V. Brunson of Louisville, Cliffton Brunson (Sara) of Cox’s Creek, Clayton Brunson (Ruth) of Shepherdsville and Jeremiah Lawson (Rian) of Bardstown; four siblings, Joseph R. Brunson Jr. (Karen) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Teri Baxter of Shepherdsville, Kathy Norman of Frederick, Md. and Cindy Laux (Jim) of Kettering, Ohio; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his long-time friends, Gary and Terry McGauley of Shepherdsville; and his dog Rufus.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at the Maraman-Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with Bro. Mark Veatch officiating. Burial is in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hosparus of Louisville.
The Maraman-Billings Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
