Eleanor H. Downs, 101, of Bardstown, died Tuesday Oct. 3, 2017, at Bardstown Health and Rehab. She was born Feb. 11, 1916, in Fairfield. She was a self-employed farmer, a Bardstown, Culvertown, and Cox’s Creek Senior Citizens member, and a member of the Bardstown Homemakers Club. She was a member of t, and Bardstown Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Tyler Downs; two daughters, Jenelle Maines and Joann Downs; one son, Lloyd Downs; her parents, Simon and Grace Humphrey; two sisters, Thelma Crabb and Alton Downs; and four brothers, Virgil Humphrey, Clarence Humphrey, Leland Humphrey, and Simon Humphrey.
She is survived by one daughter, Rose Marie (Bobby) Ditto of Bardstown; two sons, Glenn (Sue) Downs of Bardstown and Tyler Downs of Cynthiana; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday Oct. 6, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery with Dr. Randal Pollock officiating.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, and 9-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
