Eva Ethel Skimmerhorn Noel, 83, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026 at her daughter’s home. She was a native of Washington County. She was born April 8, 1943 to the late Benjamin Franklin “B.F.” and Lillie Marion Tatum Skimmerhorn.
She was a member of the Bloomfield Church of God of Prophecy, a 1961 graduate of Willisburg High School and a retired state employee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Athel “A.D.” Noel (Jan. 15, 2022); one daughter, Susan Leslie Noel (Sept. 1, 1991); and one sister, Judy Ann Cornish (April 24, 1988).
Survivors include five daughters, Jeannie Mattingly of Louisville, Annette Noel and Debbie Noel, both of Bloomfield, Patty Kuntz (Jerry) of Owensboro and Bobbi Boblett (Bradley) of Willisburg;
one son, John Noel (Sandra) of Lancaster, S.C.; one brother, Bobby Skimmerhorn (Connie) of Loretto; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Millard Ledford officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Noel, Josh Noel, Matt Noel, Gavin Mattingly, Jaden Hunter and Austin Semar.
The Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
