Obituary: Evan Raphel Goodlett Sr., 74, Taylorsville

Evan Raphel Goodlett Sr., 74, of Taylorsville, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, at his home. He was born July 20, 1951, in Spencer County to the late, David Raphel and Mattie Lucille Keeling Goodlett.

He did a number of things over the years from construction to farming, to trucking. He attended Little Union Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Lynn Goodlett; and four brothers, Danny Wayne, Ronnie, Earl and Glenn Goodlett.

He is survived by one daughter, Tamitha Lynn Goodlett of Mount Eden; three sons, Evan Raphel (Sherry) Goodlett, Jr., Jeremy David “J.D.” (Ashley) Goodlett and Aaron Wesley Goodlett, all of Taylorsville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

His family respectfully chose cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
