Gary Ruth, 79, Boston, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. Gary was born Sept. 29, 1946, in Louisville to the late Chester and Marietta Hardesty Ruth. He retired from Brooklawn Youth Services and was a United States Vietnam Veteran. Gary was an F1 racing enthusiast. He loved to cook for his family; making lasting memories with them. Gary also enjoyed cruising, camping and boating.

Gary is survived by his wife, Susie Redmon, his children, Kenny Ruth of Louisville, Lisa (Jamie) Cornish of Frankfort, , Cody (Maria) Ruth of Louisville, Tessa Ruth of Fort Worth, TX, and Kelsey Ruth of Big Timber, MT, his grandchildren, Jamie Moore, Kevin Ruth, Alexis Rodgers, Kendall Clay, Madison Cornish, Mallory Cornish and Pepper Ruth, five great grandchildren also survive.
In accordance with Gary’s wishes, cremation was chosen by the family. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at Samuels Hall at the Nelson County Fair Grounds from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.
