Gary Wayne Bickett, 78, of Bardstown, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2026 at his residence. He was born Dec. 10, 1947 in Louisville to the late Felix Pitt and Ruby Evelyn Shain Bickett. Gary was the owner of G&S Construction, was a United States Army Veteran and was of the Catholic faith. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Gary was a wonderful man that loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Bickett and a sister, Janice Bickett Duke.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Bartley Bickett, his children, Dewayne (Michelle) Bartley, Kevin (Tracy) Bickett, Chasity (Jerry) Hardin, John Parrott, all of Bardstown, 2 sisters, Ann Darlene (Jerry) Noffsinger of Ohio, Patricia Gale Ashley of Elizabethtown, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for Mr. Gary Wayne Bickett will be 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7, 2026 at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown. Bro. Phil Young will officiate.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8 p.m. with cremation to follow the services. To honor Gary’s love for Jude’s Jingle Tree, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Home of the Innocents.
