Georgia Lucille (Clark) Reed
GEORGIA LUCILLE (CLARK) REED

Georgia was active in her church at First Baptist Church in Hodgenville and served as a Sunday School officer and on various committees through the years. She belonged to the Homemakers Club, Bridge Clubs, Canasta Club, and Band Boosters and served as a room mother as well. She served on the LACE council and worked at Garrett’s Jewelry Store after retiring as a legal secretary. Georgia was an excellent seamstress, knitter and hostess. She’s always been a devoted friend to many who looked upon her as a rock. She has been an inspiration to so many throughout her life by the manner in which she lived her life as a servant to others. Her door was always open and all were warmly welcomed in her home. She has given so much to so many-always putting the needs of others before herself. She was the best mother and was adored by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Vernon and her parents, Joseph Claudie and Nancy Elizabeth (Dale) Clark, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Ray Clark and Billy Joe Clark, 1 sister; Darlene Maffett and a son-in-law; Dickie Newton.

She is survived by 1 son; Steve (Chris) Reed of Hodgenville and 3 daughters; Kathy (Gary) Cruse of Elizabethtown, Janet (Glenn) Williams of Hodgenville, Donna (Mike) Bishop of Charlotte, NC and Mary Lou Newton of Hodgenville. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren; Joe (Amanda) Reed, Beth Fifield, Nathan (Tara) Williams, Patrick (Laura) Reed, Jessi (Jared) Clemons, Christy (Seth) Ratchford, Jordan Newton and Elizabeth (Brian) Elam. She also had 13 great-grandchildren; Dylan, Lexy, Trey, Tanner, Hannah, Mallory, Ella, Ethan, Jorja Mae, Reed, Graham, Wes, Brook and Kate along with 4 great-great-grandchildren; Kendall, Kennedy, Grayson and Lucas.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Tender Touch Heart and Home for the excellent, loving care they provided for Mom.

Funeral will be Aug. 24, 2026 at William R. Rust Funeral Home, Hodgenville Chapel at 11 a.m. with Bro. Roger Pepper officiating. She will be laid to rest at Red Hill Cemetery at noon.
