
James Fredrick “Fred” Mudd, 71, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at his residence. He was born Aug. 22, 1945, in Lebanon. He was a retired dairy farmer, retired maintenance supervisor of Summa Technology and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He loved being with family and adored his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Owen and Josephine Caldwell Mudd; four sisters, Pauline Abell (Bert), Joan Tharp (Don), Patsy Von Nostiz (Carl), and Juanita Spalding; and two brothers, Bernard Mudd (Minnie Ida) and Bobby Mudd.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sharon Mattingly Mudd of Lebanon; one son, James Fredrick “Junior” Mudd (Johanna) of Lebanon; four daughters, Rita Clark (Tony), Martha Mattingly (Eddie), Janice Royalty (Chris) and Angie Marrett (Eddie), all of Lebanon; three sisters, Geneva Blair of Louisville, Caroline Smith of Louisville, Connie Pendygraft (Ralph) of Louisville; four brothers, Emmett Spalding (brother-in-law) of Louisville, Phillip Owen Mudd Jr. of Louisville, Mike Mudd (Sandy) of Lebanon, Gene Mudd (Mary Ann) of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, at St. Charles Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Bosley Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. prayer service with Deacon Joe Dant.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
