James Gregory Bryan, 70, of Elizabethtown went peacefully to his Heavenly home surrounded by his wife, who was the love of his life, and his children Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at the University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born May 11, 1956 in Elizabethtown to his parents, Herman Augustine and Mary Agnes Beeler Bryan.
Greg was an avid lover of any sport but UK basketball and Nascar were his favorites. He was in his happiest place when he was fishing at the farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary Agnes Bryan; a grandson, Lucas Espejo and a brother, Clarence B. Bryan.
Survivors include his wife, Claire Booth Bryan; children, Jeremy Michael Bryan (Robin), Shannon Marie Henderson (Brandon) and Joshua Allen Bryan (Amber); sister, Martha J. Howard; brother, Robert Bryan (Bonnie); sister-in-law, Shirley Bryan; grandchildren, Ashley Conner, Jacob Bryan (Hannah), Allison Grimes, Madison Bryan, Bryson Olson, Abigail Grimes, Carson Olson, Benjamin Bryan and Arlo Bryan; great grandchildren, Vincent and Maxwell Conner and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with cremation to follow.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, and after 9 a.m.. Thursday at the funeral home.
