Jerry Lynn Burns, 60, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 29, 1952, in Shelby County. He was a former employee of 
Houchen’s and Reed’s Foodland. He was a member of Chaplin Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Veneta Smith Burns.
He is survived by his sister, Patty Hood; one niece, Sarah Hood; several aunts, uncles, and a special aunt and uncle, Jeanie and Marnie Smith who helped care for him.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Chaplin Baptist Church with burial in the Highview Cemetery. Bro. Heath Woolman will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at the church.
