Jimmy Cambron, Sr., 63, of Bardstown, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Robley Rex Veterans Administration Medical Center in Louisville. He was born Jan. 2, 1951, in Bardstown. He was a 10-year veteran of the U.S.
Navy, a member of American Legion Post 167 and a member of Bardstown Church of God.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Cambron; and his parents, John Ed and Louise Reed Cambron.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Cobb Cambron of Portsmouth, Va;
one daughter, Michelle Guthrie of Columbus, Ohio; one son, James Cambron, Jr. of Petersburg, Va.; three stepchildren, Nelisa “Buttons” Gandy of Philadelphia, and Tarik Cobb and Tammy Cobb, both of Virginia; two sisters; Cameille (Bob) Fields of Lexington and Sheila (Glenn) Calbert of Bardstown; four brothers, Johnny (Mildred) Cambron and Paul Cambron, both of Bardstown, Frank (Janice) Cambron of New Jersey and T.C. (Claudia) Cambron of Washington, D.C.; one aunt, Catherine Reed Bryant of Bardstown; one granddaughter, Marchelle; five stepgrandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and his caretaker, Laura Rowlett of Bardstown.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at the Bardstown Church of God with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Bro. Philip Cambron officiating.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at the Bardstown Church of God.
Memorial donations may go to the American Cancer Society.
