Obituary: John Ben Howe, 68, Bardstown

John Ben Howe, 68, of Bardstown, died Friday May 6, 2016, in Bardstown. He was born Jan. 18, 1948, in Tahlequah, Okla. He was owner of Bardstown Aviation Services. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, then flew commercial and private planes. He was a member of American Legion China Post 1.

fun_angelHe was preceded in death by his father, John Lee Howe.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Howe of Bardstown; two sons, Michael C. (Sara) Sutphin of Louisville, and Stephen H. Howe of Chicago; his mother, Louise Howe of Jay, Okla.; two grandsons, Paul Sutphin and Jonathan Sutphin; one sister, Louanne Wallace Howe of Jay, Okla.; one brother, Dick Howe of Jay, Okla.; one cousin, Lanna Fox of Jay, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. Pastor Bill Williamson will officiate.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016, and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to Veterans Administration.

The Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
