John Thomas “Tommie” Reed Jr., 84, of Bardstown, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born April 20, 1932, in Nelson County. He was a self-employed farmer and a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Zelma Reed; and two sisters, Bonnie Houck and Shirley Boone.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Fister Reed; two children, Mary Greer and Thomas Reed, both of Bardstown; one sister, Sue (Glenn) Downs of Bardstown; three grandchildren, Todd Greer, John Greer and Tiffany (Eric) Brittian; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Bro. Bill Greer officiating.
Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, and 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to Woodlawn United Methodist Church or St. Joseph Parish School.
