Johnny Hugh Smith, 62, of Boston, formerly of New Haven, passed away Aug. 21, 2026 at his home. He was a former cabinet maker and designer with skill in creating technical blueprints and drawings and then building and installing customized cabinetry. Johnny enjoyed quiet peace and comfort in solitude as he chose to live a simple life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Lucille Smith; along with his siblings, Carolyn, Theresa May, and Marion.
He is survived by 4 brothers, Donnie, Charlie, Bill, and Joe and 5 sisters, Wanda, Mary Ellen, Marilyn, Brenda, and Louise. In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen. Joseph L.
