Joseph Patrick Metcalf, 68, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Flaget Memorial Hospital.
He worked as a welder and also in construction for many years. He would often be found drawing or painting in his spare time. Catching him reading a book wouldn’t be out of the ordinary.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William Charlie Metcalf.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lillie; three sons, Shawn Metcalf, Eddie Metcalf, and Shane Metcalf; one sister, Denise Stone; one brother George Metcalf; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Cassie Marie Kiefer; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove.
The funeral is 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in the chapel of the Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove.
Cremation was chosen by the family.
The Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove is in charge of arrangements.
