Joseph Randal “Randy” Hall age 78, a native of Fredericktown, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his wife and daughter.


Randy was born Nov. 26, 1947 in Fredericktown to the late Lee and Ann Taylor Hall, three brothers, Gene, J.L. and Frank Hall and three sisters, Dorothy Fowler, Elizabeth Wimsatt and Hattie Maloney.
Randy was a 1965 graduate of Fredericktown High School, he served for 30 years in the United States Army, National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves and retired as a Master Sgt. He retired from General Electric after 35 years, retired from Haydon Bridge Company after 15 years and CATS transportation after 5 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed mowing yards and watching UK games, spending time with his kids and grandchildren and loved to hunt and fish. He was a 3rd degree member of Council 4270 Knights of Columbus in Springfield where he served as Financial Secretary and was a dedicated volunteer. He also volunteered with the 4-H program for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Durrett Hall, his children, Sean (Heather) Hall of Springfield, Teresa (Justin) Grundy of Bardstown and Sara Hall of Georgetown, his grandchildren, Olivia and Spencer Kelly, Emily (Landon) Osborne, Hunter Hall, Kylie, Chanley and Taylan Newton, Londyn, Edyn, Greyson and Kaison Grundy, Mia and Raegan Long and Maci Johnson. Two great granddaughters, Tova and Freya Osborne and one the way, Randi Osborne. Also 2 Brothers, Foster (Sue) Hall of Crestwood and Donnie Hall of Springfield, 3 Sisters-Norma Lauder of Louisville, Judy (John) Hart and Elaine Irvine all of Bardstown and a sister-in-law, Teresa Clifton of Bardstown.
Randy had 36 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass for Joseph Randall “Randy” Hall will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2026 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Joachim Kenney, O.P. officiating. Burial will be in Cemetery Hill with military honors conducted by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Tommy and Hunter Hall, John Hart, Justin Grundy, Landon Osborne, Brandon Newton and Jeff Irvine.
Friends may call from 3:00 till 8 p.m. Sunday and again from 7 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. Monday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Markey Cancer Center in Lexington.
