Obituary: Katie Dee Ferguson, 66, Taylorsville

Katie Dee Ferguson, 66, of Taylorsville, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. She was born Dec. 13, 1958, in Knoxville to Barbara Jean Ford Kennedy and the late Carles Kennedy.

She was a member of Nelson County Baptist Church and was employed in food services at the Bullitt County School System. She loved to cook and bake, and enjoyed spending time at the river with her loved ones.

She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Ferguson Jr. of Taylorsville; three daughters, Misty (Marcus) Bednark of Shepherdsville, Bethany (Jeremy) Wilson of Corbin, and Jessica (Adam) Ulrich of Goshen; one son, Robert (Christine) Ferguson III of Shepherdsville; her mother, Barbara Kennedy of Shepherdsville; one sister, Kim (Danny) Goff of Shepherdsville; one brother, C.L. (Carol) Kennedy of Jeffersonville, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at Nelson County Baptist Church with Bro. Darrell Goodlett officiating. Burial is in The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown, and 9:30-11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at the church.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of services.
