Larry A. Tousignant, 74, of Bardstown died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born July 12, 1941, in Iron River, Mich. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, chief of police for the Springfield Police Department for 12 years, a commander for the Dearfield Police Department, branch manager for the Department of Criminal Justice, and a member the Southern Police Institute.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Evelyn Tousignant.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Tousignant; one daughter, Aimee (David) Schmanski; one son, Joseph Tousignant; three stepchildren, Renee (Jeff) Lowe, Jayson Paine, and Barker (Ginny) Paine; three sisters, Linda (Chuck) Smith, Jan Joiner and Joan Hibbard; and 11 grandchildren.
There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
The Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of the arrangements.
