Obituary: Lois Ann McGuire, 86, Bardstown

Lois Ann Robey McGuire, 86, of Bardstown, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. Born March 17, 1940 in Marion County, she was a caregiver and private sitter to many, starting at nine years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie W. McGuire who died Dec. 17, 2020; her parents, Joseph Albert Robey, Sr. and Mary Margaret Downs Robey; her brothers, Robert Augustine “Bobbo” Robey, Joseph Albert “Junebug” Robey and Joseph L. “Jodie” Robey; her sisters, infant Mary Robey, Barbara Janice Nalley and Dorothy Jeanette “Dot” Henon; her stepson, Steven Wilson and step-grandson, Corey Wilson.

Survivors include three children, Robert F. Cooper, Jr. of Mt. Eden, Stacia Lynn Hall (Tim) of Louisville, and Jennifer Mayfield (Kevin) of Bardstown; one stepdaughter, Bobbie Sue Larimore; five grandchildren, Christie Blain (Josh), Todd Hall (Meghan), Kyle Hall (Ivy), Bobbie Sue Pennington, and Robbie Cooper (Kay); two step grandsons, Adam Larimore and Devon Wilson (Emily); many other great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; three siblings, Joseph “Pat” Robey (Bonnie) of Shepherdsville, Wanda “Cindy” Jones (Keith) of Lebanon, and Margaret Lynn Henon of Louisville.

Funeral Services for Lois Ann Robey McGuire will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may go to the Nelson County Humane Society.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Todd Hall, Kyle Hall, and great grandsons, Jamie Laws, Logan Blain, Drew Blain, and Dylan Blain.
