Obituary: Madonia Rae (Vittitow) Miles, 94, Boston

Madonia Rae Vittitow Miles, 94, of Boston, Kentucky passed away Thursday Aug. 13, 2026 at her residence, with her family by her side.

Madonia was born Dec. 12, 1931 in Icetown to the late Herman Nix and Catherine Lillian Rogers Vittitow. Madonia was a lifetime member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, and she was a Laborer with Jim Beam

Madonia enjoyed camping with her family and friends, going fishing and listening to Bluegrass music, she also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, Madonia was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Russell Miles, two sisters, Dean Dones, and Joann Miles, one brother, Roger Herman Vittitow, one son-in-law, Allen Douglas.

Madonia is survived by two sons, Joseph Raymond (Annette) Miles of New Haven, and William Mark (Jane) Miles of Boston, three daughters Sheila Douglas, Louise Miles and Kimberly Ann (Keith) Wimsett all of Boston, one sister, Pat Cundiff of Boston, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, special Thank you to her caregivers, Careesa Cambron and Sue Perkins, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Christian service Tuesday Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine Church in New Haven with Father Biju officiating, burial will follow at St. Thomas Catholic Church Cemetery in Bardstown.

Visitation for Madonia will be Monday Aug. 17, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and will continue Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 until time for service at Church.
