Mary Ella Bishop, 79, of Louisville, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. She 
was born Dec. 10, 1934, in Bloomfield to the late William and Catherine Wells Hayes. She was a member of the Bloomfield 2nd Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of the old Long’s Grill in Bloomfield, and was a retired housekeeper.
She is survived by her husband, James Paul Bishop, two daughters, Mildred Bishop and Deborah Bishop, both of Louisville; five sons, John Bishop of California, James (Vereal) Bishop of North Carolina, Larry Bishop, Jerry (Pam) Bishop), and Gregory Bishop, all of Louisville; two sisters, Willie “Sis” Hayes and Shirley Ann Hayes, both of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at the Bloomfield 2nd Baptist Church with cremation to follow. The Rev. Ricky Butler will officiate.
Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at the church.
The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
